Surf Performance InsightsMeasured beyond the heat sheets
We hold every wave scored on the Championship Tour in the modern era, not just the heat totals. Each wave carries its own score and the direction it broke, joined to the athlete who rode it, their stance, the conditions, the round and the venue. Federations, coaches and athletes use it to decide selection and preparation from evidence rather than memory.
Detailed performance analytics have been available in professional sports for a long time. Surfing has coach memory, public heat sheets, and video review.
The public record stops at the heat result. Who advanced, and what the total was. It cannot tell a coach how an athlete scores on their backhand against their forehand, which wind conditions have historically suited them, or what a competitive total actually looks like at the break they are about to surf.
That information exists. It has simply never been assembled.
Heat result, total score, placing. One row per athlete per heat.
Every individual wave, its score, its direction, when in the heat it was ridden.
All of it, in one relational structure, so any layer can be queried against any other.
What we do
Three ways our federations, coaches and athletes work with us
A coach-facing view of the database. Athlete profiles, head-to-head comparison, and venue breakdowns that show how the field actually scores at the break you are heading to.
Delivered today as structured reporting while the platform is built.
A brief per athlete before the event covering venue history, season form and how each likely opponent builds a score. Afterwards, a debrief reconstructed wave by wave from the heats they actually surfed.
Delivered ahead of supported events.
One question, answered properly against the database. Whether an athlete is ready for a venue, which of two selections the record supports, how a squad's scoring profile has moved across a season.
Scoped per question, with the method documented alongside the answer.
Who it's for
Built for federations, coaches and athletes first.
The primary partnership. Analytical capability across a whole squad and a whole qualification cycle: evidence behind selection, venue preparation for the events that decide quotas, and a written record of what the data informed when someone asks two years later.
Heat-level preparation. What a competitive total looks like at this venue, whether an opponent scores on one big wave or two steady ones, which conditions have historically suited your athlete. Answered before they paddle out, not reconstructed afterwards.
An honest picture of your own competitive record. Where your scoring holds up, where it drops, how you go on your backhand against your forehand, and how all of it reads against the field at the venues on your schedule.
Tell us the decision you're trying to make
Selection, venue preparation, a squad review, a qualification pathway. The useful first conversation is about a specific question rather than a product tour, and we will tell you honestly when the data cannot answer it.
